I cant really remember... I know that Julian learned not to be proud and that he truly did love his mother despite what he acted out in the beginning of the story. I also know that Dade learned to be his own person and allow the woman free. I really don't see how they relate though...<span>Update 2: Is EVERYONE happy now? I got the answer (cough cough no thanks to any of you...) At the end, both Dade and Julian both feel very alone in the world, but in very different ways. Julian feels alone physically, because his mother has just died and he is alone without her. Julian also feels alone mentally. He feels superior to others, and this sets him apart from the rest. Dade, on the other hand feels alone because he realizes he won't ever be able to understand everyone around him, and they won't be able to understand him and this puts a barrier between him and everyone else.</span>
