What is the yellow wallpaper?
statuscvo [17]
The Yellow Wallpaper is a 6,000-word short story by the American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman, first published in January 1892 in The New England Magazine.
i know its late but ehh oh well !
the story is a collection of journal entries written by a woman whose physician husband (John) has rented an old mansion for the summer. Forgoing other rooms in the house, the couple moves into the upstairs nursery. As a form of treatment, the unnamed woman is forbidden from working, and is encouraged to eat well and get plenty of exercise and air, so she can recuperate from what he calls a "temporary nervous depression – a slight hysterical tendency", a diagnosis common to women in that period.[2][3] She hides her journal from her husband and his sister the housekeeper, fearful of being reproached for overworking herself. The room's windows are barred to prevent children from climbing through them, and there is a gate across the top of the stairs, though she and her husband have access to the rest of the house and its adjoining estate.

The story depicts the effect of understimulation on the narrator's mental health and her descent into psychosis. With nothing to stimulate her, she becomes obsessed by the pattern and color of the wallpaper. "It is the strangest yellow, that wall-paper! It makes me think of all the yellow things I ever saw – not beautiful ones like buttercups, but old foul, bad yellow things. But there is something else about that paper – the smell! ... The only thing I can think of that it is like is the color of the paper! A yellow smell."[4]

In the end, she imagines there are women creeping around behind the patterns of the wallpaper and comes to believe she is one of them. She locks herself in the room, now the only place she feels safe, refusing to leave when the summer rental is up. "For outside you have to creep on the ground, and everything is green instead of yellow. But here I can creep smoothly on the floor, and my shoulder just fits in that long smooch around the wall, so I cannot lose my way.

Create a traditional story with only animal characters. (150 - 200 words)
CaHeK987 [17]

Orla the orangutan was eating a yellow banana. Orla had about five bananas sitting by her side waiting to be devoured. Orla’s friend Gary the grasshopper jumped onto her side.

“hey orla, whatcha got there?” he asked

Orla wiped her mouth and muttered “a banana...”. Gary had seen Orla eating bananas time and time again.

“Why do you ask, Gary?” she continued.

Gary remained quiet. Orla, who was confused, continued eating.

Around the corner Harry the Hippopotamus was munching on the grass below him. Harry’s sister Henrique was growing tired of the boring green grass.

“How could you find grass boring?” Henry was quite confused.

“Henry...ah Henry...it’s so basic. We’ve literally had it since forever.”

“yeah and it’s still amazing”

“i just...i was to try those yellow things.”

“the bananas? You know Orla would never let you have those- their hers.”

“well...maybe she won’t miss a couple.” Henrique says in a suspicious tone.

Harry doesn’t bother to stop her since he knows that Henrique does what she wants.

Gary the grasshopper heard all of this and instantly told Orla Henrique’s plan.

Henrique, who was on the smaller scale for Hippos, snuck behind Orla. She reached her face towards the bananas. inching closer and closer ready to grasp one.

Orla snapped around, “Henrique- just what do you think you’re doing?”. Henrique was shocked, she was so sneaky how did she know. overwhelmed with guilt she confessed.

“Henrique...you know if you had just asked I would’ve given you one.” Orla laughed.

“Oh...” Henrique felt guilty and undeserving.

Orla offered a banana but Henrique denied, maybe stealing wasn’t the best way to get what she wanted.

The end!

(274 Words)

Traditional stories typically have a meaning that goes along with them, in this case stealing isn’t right.

Hope this helps! :)

Pleasee write a essay about:<br> Should homework be banned?
love history [14]

Students spend up to a third of their day working hard at school; they deserve to have a break. Not only do students deserve to have a break, but they also deserve to have time for themselves to indulge in extracurricular activities like, sports, music, and swimming, etc. Most students who participate in such activities struggle to complete their homework, and only have a small amount of time to enjoy their activities fully. Extracurricular activities are important to the well-being and development of children. Students deserve to have a well-balanced life. Students already spend a third of their day working hard at school, and another third of their day sleeping. They deserve to have the remaining time to enjoy more important things such as time with their families.

The most important reason homework for students should be banned is because it interferes with invaluable, quality family time.

Least favorite character of restart? Who and why?
forsale [732]

Bo-Katan is far from the most hateable character in Star Wars, when you compare her to some antagonists. But her portrayal as one of the “good guys” is what irritates me about her.

This trigger-happy “idealist”, betrayed her sister, Duchess Satine, and joined a cult that wanted to overthrow her. She took pleasure in violence, and terrorised innocents to assert her power. She tried to kill Ahsoka. In Rebels, she turned on Sabine, because Sabine created a weapon that was hyper-effective against Mandalorian armour. But it was Bo-Katan who forced Mandalore out of its pacifist stance in the first place.
