Answer:

In the year 1864, Lincoln had to face a new presidential election, an unprecedented situation considering that it would be carried out during a civil war.

In the presidential elections, held on November 8, 1864, Lincoln obtained 2 218 388 popular votes, which equaled 55.02% of the votes, while McClellan had managed to gather 1,812,807 votes, which represented 44.96% of the votes. the votes. In the Electoral School Lincoln had 212 electors against 21 of McClellan, since Lincoln had won in 23 of the states that participated in the election (the Confederates did not) and McClellan in only of them. Thus, Lincoln managed to be re-elected with an overwhelming majority; A significant element of this brilliant victory was that, by allowing many states that their citizens mobilized on the fronts could vote in theaters of operations of the war, Lincoln obtained 70% of the votes of the members of the Army.

On March 4, 1865, he began his second consecutive presidential term.

Keith_Richards [23]

I looked this question up and found out it compares Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address" and Roosevelt's "The Four Freedoms Speech." Since the speech is too long, I will not add it here, but it can be easily found online. As for the answer choices, they are the following:

A. the importance of equality

B. the importance of freedom

C. the importance of taxation

D. the importance of avoiding war

E. the importance of lost soldiers

Answer:

The ideas that are addressed by both Roosevelt and Lincoln are:

A. the importance of equality

B. the importance of freedom

Explanation:

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the 32nd. Their speeches, "Gettysburg Address" and "The Four Freedoms Speech" are both famous for their themes as well as their rhetoric.

Two ideas that both speeches have in common are the importance of freedom and the importance of equality. Even though the contexts in which each speech was given were very different, both Presidents focused on how freedom is, or should be, a premise in everyone's life. Both of them believed in that ideal, and both claimed that it was the groundwork of the American nation. Likewise, both Presidents speak of equality between all human beings. We are all born the same, and disrespecting that fact is what leads to wars and injustices.

To what degree is it understandable for England and France to pursue a policy of Peace through Appeasement?
Llana [10]

Answer: Appeasement was the right policy for England because it gave them time to prepare and get there army together. Appeasement allowed them to have peace and no conflict for a while which is a good outcome of appeasement. Lord Halifax even promoted appeasement because it allowed them to prepare for the war which happened within a year.

Explanation: It's understandable that having peace through appeasement would put England in advantage during the war and France could focus on theirselves.
