Question 3 of 5

Mathematics

Answer:

only Y

Step-by-step explanation:

all the others have for at least 1 value of x more than one different y values defined.

but a function must be clear about the association between an x unit value and the corresponding result.

many different input values can have the same functional result. but there can be only one defined result per input value. otherwise it is not a function.

you cannot say 1+1 = 2 or 3. it is either 2 or 3, but you need to define what. you can't leave it open.

Matty jogs 9 km/hr. Identify the correct conversion factor setup required to compute Matty's speed in m/s.
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

2.5 m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

Matty's speed = 9 km/hr

We need to convert 9 km/hr to m/s

We know that,

1 km = 1000 m

1 hour = 3600 seconds

v=9\times \dfrac{1000\ m}{3600\ s}\\\\=2.5\ m/s

So, Matty jogs with the speed of 2.5 m/s.

IM SO LOST PLEASE HELP
LiRa [457]
Check the picture below.

\bf \textit{lateral area of a cone}\\\\
LA=\pi r\stackrel{slant-height}{\sqrt{r^2+h^2}}~~
\begin{cases}
LA=539\pi \\
r=49
\end{cases}\implies 539\pi =\pi 49\sqrt{r^2+h^2}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{539\pi }{49\pi }=\sqrt{r^2+h^2}\implies 11=\sqrt{r^2+h^2}

how would you estimate the sum? just like estimate the fractions and then get your estimated answer? Q: 2 1/6 + 3 6/11
denis-greek [22]
I think estimation is terrible. If u want to truly solve it, you just need to get a common denominator on each of the fractions. that means the bottom half of both fractions must be the same in addition or subtraction. so here, the common denominator would be 66. What times 6 = 66? 11. So 1*11/6*11 = 11/66. Then what times 11 = 66? 6. So 6*6/6*11. Your new problem is 2 11/66 + 3 36/66. Now you can just add it up, but the denominators will always stay the same, 66. Your answer would be 5 47/66
