The 9th Amendment states that even though the Constitution lays out a litany of specific and enumerated rights, it does not limit the people to only having those rights.
In short, the people have more rights than the ones that are specifically listed in the Constitution & Bill of Rights.
The purtains came to america for freedom of religion also freedom of speech :). People that didn't belive in thier religion were not welcomed like non-purtains :)
