There are a couple of answers to this:
A: A lot of people back then were heavily Catholic, the Catholic church claimed that the Earth was flat, while others believed the Earth was round.
B: Back then, obviously they didn't have airplanes or satellites, thus people believed the Earth was flat. The reasoning of this is because, if you were to look outside right now, the Earth does look like it could be flat. (that is because you have to be at a certain level of elevation to see the curvature of the Earth). Eventually though, people started reasoning and came to the conclusion the Earth was round. (They were proven right when aerospace technology came around.)
Answer:
Prince Henry initiated a program of exploration to find a route to the East Indies, by sailing around Africa.
Explanation:
Portuguese exploration along African coasts was fundamental for finding a route to the West Indies in the 15th century, after the Turks had cut the traditional route to Asia after their conquest of Constantinopole. In 1498, Vasco da Gama finally managed to circumnavigate Africa and arrived in India. The main goal of the Portuguese was to trade spices with India.
It might be conservation energy if it isn't that that I don't know what else it'd be.
Trees serve as a natural force to prevent erosion and hold soil together during rainfall and other periods of weather that might impact the integrity of the soil. However, trees were cut down to build a new shopping center there could be an increased flow of water to a river and also lead to great soil erosion nearby thus increasing the amount of sediment being deposited into the river. Also this new shopping mall could increase the pollutants in a river as well.
