What is different about how history is written (and rewritten) today, in the 21st century?

Not all history is 100 percent accurate. It can be easily expressed by the phrase “history is written by the victors” people often times twist thing in the favor of whoever they are loyal to, they make other people seem worse and sometimes these misconceptions are carried into modern history and we dont know that it has been changed or twisted in some way.

What is different about how history is written (and rewritten) today, in the 21st century? As people retell the story, they add extra details to make the story more impressive. Often, myths are based on events that actually happened.
