Then, use sources from the Internet or from your school or local library to do in-depth research on your favorite performance. Watch videos on the performance, if possible. Write a one paragraph (6-8 sentences) reflection, in English, in response to the following: Describe the set, characters, and/or instrumentation. Give some basic information about the story, the plot and/or the purpose. Reflect on the performance that you saw: What did you like? What did you not like? What was surprising? Have you been to a live performance before? How did it compare to this one?
In this musical they had opera character who came from soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, baritone, and bass vocal backgrounds. The story is based around Florencia Grimaldi who came back to her home town in Act 1 to perform at an opera house to try and impress her lover a butterfly hunter who has dissappeared into the woods. But they end up getting on a boat and crashing during a storm. In act 2 they recover from the storm, they make it to Manaus but an outbreak of cholera keeps them quarantined on the ship. I wasn't able to find any imformational or good videos on the opera but from the pictures it seemed well put together and intresting to watch. I have been to many live performances like musicals and plays and concerts so I don't think that this would have been any different.
