Why does convection occur in the mantle?

In the earth’s mantle , large amounts of heat are transferred by convection currents, which would cause the heat from the core and the mantle itself causes convection currents in the mantle . The hot rocks eventually will cool and sink back through the mantle which will make the cycle repeat which would be the cycle of rising and sinking .

Bands of soft rocks like clay and sand are very weak in which they can be eroded very quickly. Since cliff and coastline doesn't erode at the the same pace, an inlet of the sea to where the land curves inward forming a bay. Once soft rocks are eroded inward, the hard rocks are able to stick to the sea to form a headland
