In French, do we need to use partitives articles in every sentence? I don't think we do. I am confused.
andreev551 [17]

Bonjour

Do we need to use partitive articles in every sentence in French ????

The answer is NO !!!

You must use partitive articles with things as food, that can't be quantified

examples =

de l'eau = some water

du gâteau = some cake

du vin =some wine

Je veux de l'eau = I want some water.

BUT Je veux un verre d'eau.

Veux-tu du vin ?. = Do you want any wine ?

BUT Veux-tu une bouteille de vin .

-

It's used as well after the verb "FAIRE"

je fais du foot = I play football

je fais de la guitare = I play the guitar

-

other uses but these are the main ones

....

du = + masc. noun

de la = + fem noun

de l' = in front of a noun begining with a vowel (elision)

des = + plural nouns both fem. & masc.

de/ d' = in a negative sentence

-

examples

je bois du vin. Je ne bois pas de vin.

Est-ce que tu veux des pâtes? Je ne veux pas de pâtes ?

Je veux de l'eau. Je ne veux pas d'eau.

Hpe it helps ☺☺☺

Je veux une baguette. Je vais______.
valentinak56 [21]

Je veux une baguette. Je vais______.

The above means "I want a baguette. I'm going to a la boulangerie".

a la boulangerie, or the third choice, is the best answer, for a la boulangerie means "bakery", in which a bakery makes and sells bread (and baguette is a type of bread).

hope this helps
