Following the crash, the Treaty of Versailles established that Germany deserved reparations for the harm it had inflicted.  Of course, the Germans didn't want to lose their glory, so they went to a tyrant (Adolf Hitler) to reclaim their authority and prestige.  Nationalism played a significant role in this case. The Nazis, Hitler's party, blamed the Jews for the reason, which resulted in the expulsion and genocide of Jews.
