Answer:

31 January at 21:00

Explanation:

Converting miles to nautical miles

1\ \text{mile}=\dfrac{1}{1.151}\ \text{nautical miles}

5450\ \text{miles}=\dfrac{5450}{1.151}=4735.01\ \text{nautical miles}

Average speed = 10.3 knots

Time taken

t=\dfrac{4735.01}{10.3}\\\Rightarrow t=459.71\ \text{hours}=\dfrac{459.71}{24}=19\ \text{days}

The difference in local time between New York and Istanbul is 8 hours. So, ship will reach New York on 13+19=32. Since January has 31 days it will reach New York on 1st February 05:00 Turkey local time. Now we subtract 8 hours and we get 21:00 .

So, the ship will arrive in New York on 31 January at 21:00 local time.

Why is it important to the United States to build a canal
mixas84 [53]
Let me help you!
It is important for the United States to build canals (wide canals) because the country is visited multiple times by hurricanes annually. Hurricanes are accompanied by heavy rainfalls and if left unchecked, causes flooding. The function of canals is to diffuse accumulated rainwater and direct it to greater bodies of water.

How does altitude impact atmospheric pressure? As altitude decreases, atmospheric pressure decreases As altitude increases, atmo
Tasya [4]

Answer: As altitude increases, atmospheric pressure decreases

Explanation:

Atmospheric pressure P is defined as the force F per unit area S the air that forms the atmosphere exerts on the Earth's surface:

P=\frac{F}{S}

It should be noted that as the altitude increases less air is above and, therefore the air weights less. This is because the atmosphere losses density as we ascend, causing less air.

However, it is important to point out this decrease in pressure is not linear, since at the beginning (in the first kilometers above sea level) it reduces more rapidly than in the next kilometers above. That is why this relationship between atmospheric pressure and altitude is exponential.

According to some scientists, which is a cause of global warming?
insens350 [35]

Answer:

Changes in solar energy

Explanation:

When released into the atmosphere, certain gases act like a blanket, preventing heat from escaping. One of the most important heat-trapping gases is carbon dioxide (CO2), which is released when we burn fossil fuels like oil, coal, and natural gas.

Once released, carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere for roughly 40 years, though its effects stay much longer; other gases, like methane, are even longer-lived. The cumulative effect is to raise the planet’s temperature.
