Answer:

Because he feels that the printer can help the British.

Explanation:

"The Dark Game: True Spy Stories from Invisible Ink to CIA Moles" is a spy non-fiction book written by Paul Janeczko. This book contains numerous true stories about the various wars that the United States got involved in, with the revelation of many closed-doors decisions made.

Mr. H had purposefully looking for someone who will be able to help him in his work. So, when he came to know about the printer who was famous for his counterfeit printed money, he knew he had to get him on his side. He knew the man has the talents he needs so he got him released, which prompt the man to profusely say his thanks and even offer his services, if he can help in any way. This was what Mr. H had been wanting, for he don't want to force anything on him. But this was a case of returning favor. He had finally found someone capable of helping the British.
