Answer:

Repetition, Alliteration, Personification

Explanation:

We can find repetition in the first line, roses is said twice

We can find alliteration in the second as words starting with m are repeated

And finally personification with the third line as houses can not literally heave and sway, which are actions a human can carry-out.

HELP ! How does text organization help an author achieve his or her purpose? (1 point) A. The text structure allows an author to
victus00 [196]

Answer:

B. The text structure allows an author to explain information in a formal way.

Explanation:

An author achieves his or her purpose by organizing the text so as to explain the text formally to the reader. For example, let's assume an author writing about issues related to the discrimination faced by women in the workplace. By means of a good text organization, the author does the following,

 • description of the issue
 • the sequence of issues
 • problem and solution.

In no fewer than three sentences, critique the following paragraph. Explain where it could be improved. Then, in your own words,
Mumz [18]

The paragraph is beyond choppy and uncomfortable to read because of it. There are too many short sentences and not enough complex ones, making it hard to follow any kind of flow the paragraph has the potential to offer. Because there were no transitions of any kind, it was hard to try and smoothly combine topics. For example, the first two sentences seem abrupt and confusing standing on their own like that. The narrator went from loving swimming to randomly speaking about the beach, and it was hard to follow until you got to the end of the second sentence, understanding then where the connection was between the two. It is hard to even figure out if the paragraph is about swimming or about the beach, and nothing was incorporated smoothly.

There are tons of things to do at local beaches, and people should spend more time at them instead of hanging out indoors all day. The beach offers a place to develop strong swimming skills, and learning to swim is one of my happiest childhood memories. I am glad I learned to swim at the beach.

Rearranging the way beaches and a love for swimming were introduced allow for it to be more easy to understand.

NeX [460]

1. This is the oldest building in our city.

The article "the" was missing.

2. Your bag is more colorful than mine.

You need the object of the pronoun. Also, American English does not use a "u" in color.

3. Tom can speak German more fluently than the other students in our class.

You need the adverb form of fluent since it is describing how fluently Tom can speak.

4. Can you run faster than me?

Eliminate the word more. It is not needed since adding /-er/ to fast creates the comparative form.

5. The new math teacher doesn't seem as nice as our previous one.

Nice should be in the adjective form since it is describing the teacher not what she is doing. FYI-in American English math does not have an /s/.

6. The tea wasn't cool enough - I couldn't drink it.

The words cool and enough need to be switched.

_____

1. This is the best dessert I've ever eaten, it's absolutely delicious!

Since the dessert is better than all the other desserts, there are three or more things being compared. The superlative form is needed.

2. I think German is easier than Russian - I'm quite good at German but the Russian alphabet is so difficult to learn.

Since there are only two items being compared, German and Russian, the comparative form with "easier" must be used.

3. I think the older parts of 'Star Wars' are more interesting than the later ones - I really like Chewbaca and Han Solo in the old trilogy.

The word "more" is needed here since you can't add /-er/ to interesting. Also it's comparing older parts to later ones...this actually does not make sense. Later should be changed to newer...but that is not what this assignment is about.

4. People generally think that men are better drivers than women but women usually drive more carefully and cause fewer accidents.

In this sentence the driving skills of men and women are being compared so it needs "more" since /-er/ cannot be added to carefully.
