To find the area if this figure we need to divide the figure into different shapes and solve from there. For the fist shape we do 8*6 that equals 48. Than we do 2*8 and that equals 16. But how’d I get 8? Well, if you look at the longer smaller figure you see that it’s base length is 2 and it’s height is 6. But that is not the height. There is another 2 and 6+2 is 8.
