I don't understand this poem, and I read it about 5 times.
frez [133]
I get you this poem is confusing and hard to understand. You have to read it several times to truly understand it. Ok but next time you don't understand a poem that has a complicated language copy the text and go to rewordify.com. Paste it. It will translate all those complicated words to simple words. Try it.

Nye describes her experience being comforted by her mother when she was sick. Her mother told her she was not dying as long as she still had the strength to make a fist. Nye then writes that she is still comforted by this thought.

The poem has several devices such as:

Allusion it can be applied because it refers to a past historical event.
Imagery because it describes in detail the palm trees. Among other things.

The tone is nostalgic because she is looking back on she was traveling but she also uses a tone of pride because she survived the journey and she can still make her hand into a fist .

Your task is to watch some commercials and to guess how they achieve their persuasive effect. Commercials are not the same as an
Lina20 [59]

For my second video, I decided to watch the "taco bells, Nacho Fries" They did a great marketing strategy. During the time Horror movies were a big trend but unfortunately, taco bell was selling food, not a movie. So they decided to make the first few seconds seem like it was a horror movie but while still have the nacho fries on the screen. Then they showed the nacho fries as the villain or horror. That made the viewer intrigued. Even if at that point they decide to skip the video, they won't forget it. Like I said earlier, horror movies were big at that time, so even if they wanted to forget it would be a challenge. Also because they continued watching means that they were interested in the commercial.

When watching Hulu I found this ad and fell in love with it. The song was so catchy that my brother and I sing it for fun. The actors portray amazing emotions that seem so natural. The Commercial I'm talking about is "Tag Team Helps With Dessert - GEICO Insurance" They make the commercial funny with different angles, a unique song, emotions, and even the little dances were entertaining to watch. The producers wanted to make something unique. Even though it could seem random it not tho. It makes it clear with a story and makes it unique with comedy.

What can you infer from Lewis' description of the way the team leaders ate the extra cookies?
zmey [24]

Lewis thinks it is unfair that the team leaders are receiving better and higher treatment, though they haven't done the same amount of work and perspiration as the other team members.
