For the math portion the calculator portion is usually easier and you don't really need it, so I would definitely study things that would not allow you to use one. For the English portion you'll have to be able to read and answer questions quickly, I would suggest finding some practice pages with passages on them as well as questions.
Syllabic. Our language allows for complex syllable structures similar to German and Russian. Although we are not a “pure” syllabic language as that would require a separate glyph for each possible syllable
