Answer:

The answer to the statement: Slow deep breaths may help you relax before a test, is, True.

Explanation:

Relaxation, in essence, is the process by which a person is able to release the tension, whether it be physical, psychological, or emotional. This process of relaxation, in order for it to be successful, must take into account also the process of breathing. This is because, when a person breathes slowly, it allows the brain to slow down its fast process, which happens during tension. When a person breathes slowly, he must become aware of a process that is usually done without much thought, and this awareness allows the brain to focus on something beside tension. Also, the slow movement of the breathing muscles is taken up by the brain, with the consequent sensation of relaxation. Finally, organically, breathing allows the lungs to take away toxic waste produced by the accelerated response of a body in tension, which favor the muscles and allows them to distend.

8R1 - Lines 1 through 11 best support the idea that the author
ehidna [41]

Answer:

Lines 1 through 11 best support the idea that the author is unsure about what she expects the chicks to understand.

Explanation:

This is in reference to an excerpt from Birdology where the author is in the process of setting up a home for her new chicks. The home is ready for them but she appears to be anxious about whether the chicks could understand that it is their home and come back to it after they've been let out.

As a child she got lost in her own backyard after her family moved to a new house, so she is wondering how six-week old chicks could be expected to recognize a new place as their home and not stray from it.
