United States' role in the global economy is of being the country that imports more goods than any other nation in the world.

In fact, with imports amounting to 2.3 trillion dollars, the United States imports one-eighth of all goods traded in the international market.

The United States is the largest importer of goods internationally and the third in terms of exports, although exports per capita are relatively low to be a developed country. Canada, China, Mexico, Germany and Japan are its main trading partners.

This was a campaign run by the troops of the United States and the Republic of Vietnam forces (South Vietnam) and took place from 2nd of March 1965 until 2nd of November 1968. There were several reasons for the operation including stopping the flow of North Vietnamese commodities and men into the South, bombing North Vietnam's transportation system and to boost South Vietnam's morale.
