Las tres tazas es un texto escrito por José María V. Este texto habla sobre los diferentes momentos que ha pasado la ciudad de Bogotá en Colombia, y se tienen como elementos principales las bebidas (chocolate, café y té) que tomaban en las fiestas algunos grupos de la sociedad; sin embargo, el texto no abarca hechos históricos, ya que son anécdotas personales.

Este texto es una obra literaria costumbrista. No hay referencia a algún amor romántico o a sentimientos relacionados. El romanticismo está lleno de idealismo, naturaleza y libertad, y son elementos que este texto no posee.
