In plots including those of autobiographies, the turning point of the story or events being told refers to the point of highest tension and conflict which is known as climax. The climax occurs after the rising action that leads to the main conflict and before the falling action and resolution in which the conflict is solved. Additionally, the climax is considered the turning point because in the case of the autobiography the author/main character needs to face or struggle the main conflict and this has important consequences or changes in the author's life. Therefore, the turning point in an autobiography occurs in the climax.
