Examine the assertion that “ inherited factors are indispensable in determining the appearance of an individual “
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

Parents pass on traits or characteristics, such as eye colour and blood type, to their children through their genes. Some health conditions and diseases can be passed on genetically too.

Sometimes, one characteristic has many different forms. For example, blood type can be A, B, AB or O. Changes (or variations) in the gene for that characteristic cause these different forms.

Each variation of a gene is called an allele (pronounced ‘AL-eel’). These two copies of the gene contained in your chromosomes influence the way your cells work.

The two alleles in a gene pair are inherited, one from each parent. Alleles interact with each other in different ways. These are called inheritance patterns. Examples of inheritance patterns include:

The five-dollar Burger Joint gift card that your friend gave you for your birthday expires today. You can either use the gift ca
dimaraw [331]

The following is missing for the question to be complete: What is the opportunity cost of eating the home-cooked meal?

Answer: The value of the ingredients that go into the home-cooked meal and the value of a five-dollar dinner at Burger Joint

Explanation: Opportunity cost is a value that is lost when a particular choice is made, and in doing so, a certain value of money is lost due to the non-choice of another alternative, thereby losing the benefit of the alternative choice. This means that if we have a $ 5 coupon to dine at Burger Joint but don't do it, we're having dinner with the ingredients we have to make a home-cooked meal, we also lose the money needed for home-cooked ingredients and lose the coupon for Burger Joint because it expires today. So the total cost, i.e opportunity cost, is both the value of the Burger Joint coupon and the value of the ingredients for home-made meal, because if we had chosen the alternative of having dinner at Burger Joint, the coupon would not have failed due to expiration today, we would have used it, and not spent money for home-made ingredients.

Why was Antietam the deadliest one day battle of the Civil War? Give two reasons please :(
seraphim [82]

Fighting began in the foggy dawn hours of September 17. As savage and bloody combat continued for eight hours across the region, the Confederates were pushed back but not beaten, despite sustaining some 15,000 casualties.

By the time the sun went down, both armies still held their ground, despite staggering combined casualties–nearly 23,000 of the 100,000 soldiers engaged, including more than 3,600 dead. McClellan’s center never moved forward, leaving a large number of Union troops that did not participate in the battle.
