An internship is a temporary position in a company where a person works for the experience and understanding of the company. The person working temporary is called an intern and trains in the company about how corporates work.
An internship may or may not be a paid position but it is not a permanent job. Depending on whether the company wants to hire or not, the intern may be taken on a permanent basis based on his/ her performance during the internship. This job position allows one to gain knowledge about the company and also acquire experience in the workplace.
