India shares borders with several sovereign countries; it shares land borders with China, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan in the north or north-west, and with Bangladesh and Myanmar in the east. India also shares water borders with Sri Lanka, Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia.
