What was the most important and lasting impact of the Black Power Movement of the 1960s and 1970s?
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

Equal Rights.

Explanation:

Before this time, blacks were "free" but with numerous restrictions. The only difference between their enslavement and "freedom" was that they had more protection and had to be paid for work in most scenarios. After the Black Power Movement, they were entitled to many of the same rights as the average white person, but it would still be years before they were as free as they are today.

What was the positive outcome of the brutal response of police to civil rights protests?
lubasha [3.4K]
The brutal response of police was widely publicized: it was at the time when television started gaining importance and the protests were reported in the television (and radio) to the whole country.

This actually helped gain more sympathy for the protests and spread the knowledge about them so the people who were also in favor of civil rights knew there were not alone.
