George Orwell gives examples of bad writing in the essay “Politics and the English Language.” Choose two examples from the essay
skad [1K]

1. In my perspective, the quality of writing has diminished in recent years as a result of larger and more accessible platforms, as well as a lack of literary authority, which allows anyone to write and publish a book.

2. I believe Orwell’s criticism is valid.

3. I believe his examples are given systematically and accurately.

4. I do believe that people are writing in similar way now and that mostly is a problem.

Who is George Orwell?

George Orwell, born Eric Arthur Blair, was an English novelist, essayist, journalist, and critic.

Authors of modern prose or poetry ignore the text and instead string together clichéd words or phrases: "...prose includes less and less of words chosen for their meaning, and more and more of sentences glued together like prefabricated hen-house parts."

In my opinion, Orwell's criticism in "Politics and the English Language" is justified. This is a problem not only in English language and literature, but in all languages and literatures around the world. As a result, Orwell is correct in criticising modern society for allowing language to degenerate.

In this article, Orwell carefully and accurately identifies faults in the English language and modern literature and provides suitable examples to support his claims. Orwell quotes or produces instances to substantiate his points.

Most of Orwell's major concerns about society's evolution come true, including the deterioration of language and are, which is not curable.

Comparative evidence _____.
Nutka1998 [239]

Correct answer choice is :

A) Shows how your solution has worked to solve similar problems

Explanation:

The comparative approach is a procedure for examining the evolution of languages by doing a feature-by-feature comparison of two or more languages with common assault from a shared ancestor, in order to extrapolate back to infer the characteristics of that ancestor. The comparative approach may be compared with the method of internal reformation, in which the internal advancement of a single language is indicated by the study of features within that language.

What are 4 examples of Odysseus' intelligence when confronted with the challenge of defeating the Cyclops? Listy and describe ea
evablogger [386]

Answer:

:)

Explanation:

1) Introduces himself as “Nobody” to the cyclops Polyphemus. This makes it so that the other cyclopes don’t come running when he blinds him.

2) Escapes Polyphemus’ cave by strapping himself and his men to the bellies of the cyclops’ sheep.

3) Gets to listen to the song of the Sirens. He accomplishes this in two steps. First he makes his entire crew drip wax into their ears so they’re effectively deaf for the duration of the stretch. Second, he ties himself to the main mast of the ship, and orders his crew not to ever let him get free (The Sirens’ song makes sailors crash their ships trying to reach them.)

If you also want a part where he shows LACK of intelligence, however, it’s when he tells Polyphemus his true name after escaping his island. This is a fatal mistake, and is the very reason that his journey home is as long and harrowing as it is!
