Answer:
[T]he light moved away from Lemon Brown, but not before Greg saw him hurl his body down the stairs at the men who had come to take his treasure. Greg felt Lemon Brown's hand first lying on his shoulder, then probing down his arm until he finally took Greg's hand into his own as they crouched in the darkness.
Explanation:
This is likely the answer since Lemon was trying to hide away from the thugs who had came to take his treasure. It was later that, he whispered to Greg that they are bad men.
Answer:
I'll post parts of the story that used the dogs as metaphors.
"He chuckled as their muffled noises reminded him of whimpering puppies down at the animal shelter where he volunteered. Puppies always seemed to make noises as they played and whined for attention from the older dogs or volunteers. He liked working in the smaller dog area where all the older dogs looked out for the puppies, just like family, just like his family of older members looking out for the younger ones."
The metaphor of the dog gave me a clear picture of what their family is and how they act towards one another.
Their family is big in number and most of them are kids. They are a boisterous bunch and they enjoy each others company just like puppies. The older batch of cousins are like the big dogs that keep watch over the younger cousins like puppies.
Their family is big, happy, warm, and clearly enjoys each others company.

The Chairman,
Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area,
Aba.
Sir,
REPORT OF POOR CONDITION OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN UMUNGASI COMMUNITY
It is with utmost dismay that I write to you concerning the deplorable state of electricity infrastructure in Umungasi community of Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area.
Umungasi stands tall as the center for commerce and industry in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area. Unfortunately, this community has never been treated as such. Many areas in Umungasi only have moribund transformers and many poles across the community have fallen without any intervention from the local authorities.
Various districts in Umungasi community have been without electricity supply for over ten months. These communities have severally appealed to the Local government all to no avail.
Sir, in view of the great potential latent in these communities, I suggest that there should be a huge capital investment in the electrification of Umungasi community in order to boost small scale enterprises around the area that depend highly on electricity.
Yours Faithfully,
Jude Njoku
