Find the value of x, given that all the segments that appear tangent are tangent.
cupoosta [38]
The radius of the circle and the tangent to the circle form a right angle so we have a right triangle.
Since our triangle is right we can apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find x.
8^2. =6^2 + x^2
X^2= 64-36
x= sqrt 28= 2 sqrt 7 ~ 5.30

PLEASE HELP!!! Find the measure of AB¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯. A. 11 B. 13 C. 12 D. 14
WITCHER [35]

Answer:

A. 11

Step-by-step explanation:

BC×AC = DC × LC

7(2x +3 +7 ) = 9 ( x+ 1 +9)

7 ( 2x +10) = 9( x + 10 )

14x - 9x = 90 - 70

5x = 20

x = 4

then,

AB = 2x + 3

= 2× 4 + 3

= 11

Randy ordered 3 T-shirts for $25.67 each and one skirt for $23.55 and an 8% tax. What is the total cost of the order?
DerKrebs [107]
KP - break this one down to three parts: Total cost of shirts, total cost of shirts and the skirt, and then including tax.

3 T-shirts for $25.67 each would be 3 * 25.67 = 77.01
Shirts and skirt would be 77.01 + 23.55 = 100.56
Tax can be found quite a few different ways, the easiest of which would be multiplication.

8% = .08

100.56 (total cost of clothes) * .08 (tax) = $8.05

Now just add tax and total cost of the clothes. Because of rounding, our answer might be slightly different but that's okay because it's multiple choice and only 1 answer makes sense!
