The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached, we can say the following.

The most likely reason Benjamin Franklin compiled his wit and wisdom in the form of an almanac was to offer interesting information in the form of an almanac to people who could not afford books or any kind of instruction because they were poor. Franklin was truly interested in sharing valuable and useful information with these Americans.

The almanac was published under the title "Poor Richard's Almanack," on December 19, 1932. It was a success, for the next 25 years, the almanac was a very demanded publication.

A massive drought and heat wave caused the Dust Bowl in Texas, however, the damage was compounded by the lack of prairie grass.
Sergeu [11.5K]

Answer:

The grass helped keep soil in the ground

Explanation:

The prairie grass spread roots in the earth/dirt and kept it in place and prevented soil/wind erosion. The removal of this grass and introduction of less effective cash crops led to much more soil being eroded and picked up by the wind. This contributed to the dust bowl

What geographic challenges led to the use of island hopping?
Oliga [24]
The term island hopping was used during WWII when the US and its allied forces were going from island to island trying to regain and push out the Japanese forces in the islands from Guam, Tarawa, Guadalcanal, Palua, and others, including Okinawa. Most of the tiny atolls were bombed, however, the only way to take over them was to land forces and literally flush out the Japanese soldiers by fire. Chuuk in Micronesia was believed to be very difficult to land troops and it would take a great amount of forces to land, so the US and its allies blockaded the entire lagoon, starving the Japanese. That is one of the island hopping terms I have heard. Marine are notorious for these beach landings, many of their hero's were made in the island hopping campaign. <span />

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although the question does not provide options or statements to answer it, we can say that Northwest Coast Indians were able to live in permanent villages because of the following factors. These North American Indian tribes from the Pacific could settle in a land where the weather conditions allowed them to grow some crops, the climate was not as extreme as in the East, and had the enormous advantage to live next to the Pacific harbor, so the could benefit from the sea. They were good fishermen and always had food for their families in the form of salmon, shellfish, clams, fruits, and some vegetables.
