Using y=mx+b

m stands for slope, b stands for y-intercept

slope is rise/run, the y-intercept is the point where the line touches the y-axis

1- y=(4/6)x+(-2)

2- y=(-2)x+(3)

Please help me it’s urgent!
Salsk061 [2.6K]
1.a
2.c

When u plug in what the x variable is in each equation, you figure out what y equals to.
1.y=(2)^3 +1 so y=8+1 so y=9
2.y=(-2)^3 +1 so y=-8+1 so y=-7

I cant seem to figure this out. Help
SashulF [63]
You’re gonna figure out the area of each side first. I’d recommend labeling them by letter to help keep track. Do 8x5=40 then multiply 40 by 2 (because there are two sides that are 8x5) then do 3x4 which is 12 usually you would divide 12 by 2 to get the area of a triangle but in this case just leave it alone because there are two triangles. Then do 3x8 for the rectangle (24) then you’re gonna add all the sides together. So 40+40+12(or 6+6) +24...youre answer should me 116

What is the perpendicular slope intercept form????
Alla [95]

Answer:

y=3/4x+5

Step-by-step explanation:

Well to begin with make the slope perpendicular so so far we have y=3/4x but than it needs to go through that point so we input the X in that point into our current equation to get y=-3 but we need to make it y=2 so we change our equation to y=3/4x+5 and that is your equation

What is the equation parallel to 3x+2y=8 that goes through the point 2, -4
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

The equation of the line would be y = -3/2x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find this, we first need to find the slope of the original line. We do this by solving for y.

3x + 2y = 8

2y = -3x + 8

y = -3/2x + 4

Since we know parallel lines have the same slope, we know our new line has a slope of -3/2. We can now use that along with the point in point-slope form to find the equation.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - -4 = -3/2(x - 2)

y + 4 = -3/2x + 3

y = -3/2x - 1
