The main goals and principles of the European Union are:
- Economic and social progress;
- Increasing the global influence by acting like a unit;
- Free movement of people and goods;
- Freedom, security, and justice;
- Implement and keep EU laws in order for the citizens to have their rights protected;
The EU is an organization that has progressed significantly since its formation. It became a global factor by being a unit, and it has spread out across most of the European continent by including lot of new members in it.
The organization has had success in the form of political unity on the international scene, economic development, global influence. But there has also been some difficulties, especially in recent times, where there's no real unity inside the EU, with leftist and rightist parties having totally different points of view, it hadn't managed to eliminate the nationalism ans everyone to be Europeans instead of their traditional ethnic origin, and Brexit happened as well, where one of the biggest and strongest members, the UK, has voted to come out of the organization.
