First, you have to see if there is y= or x = to substitute for the equation to find the solution.

y = 2x + 1

Rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form.

2x - y = 3 ->  y = 2x + 3

Add both equations together.                            Substitute.

    2x+1                                                               2(1)+1 = y

<u>+   2x+3    </u>                                                             2 + 1 = y

                                                                                  y = 3

   y=  4x + 4

     4x =4

      x  = 1

Your answer should be (1,3).
