It is rumored that, Lennon's affair and subsequently marriage to Uno was the prime reason which gave rise to tension among band members, most prominently creating a rift between him and McCartney.
Post the fallout, Lennon went solo and continued winning success and accolades until 1980, when he was assassinated. The event was mourned by public to such a magnitude that some could not bear the news and gave up their lives, whereas it left the music industry devastated.
