English
1 answer:

Answer:

<em>1. If you cannot see without your glasses, you should not be driving. </em>

<em>2. Our flight has been delayed because of the thunderstorm.</em>

<em> 3. Though I don’t doubt his sincerity, I cannot agree with his position on that issue.</em>

Explanation:

A complex sentence contains an independent clause along with one or more dependent clauses. Moreover, these sentences/ clauses are joined or linked by appropriate conjunctions.

As given in the rules in the question, if the independent clause comes before the dependent clause, then the use of a comma is unnecessary whereas it is vice versa for when a dependent clause comes first.

Therefore, the given sentences will be punctuated as follows-

<u><em>1. If you cannot see without your glasses, you should not be driving. </em></u>(Comma is used as the dependent clause comes before the independent clause)

<u><em>2. Our flight has been delayed because of the thunderstorm. </em></u>(The independent clause comes before the dependent clause, so the comma is omitted)

<u><em>3. Though I don’t doubt his sincerity, I cannot agree with his position on that issue.</em></u> (Comma is used as the dependent clause comes before the independent clause)

Okay, here’s what I’ll do for you. I’ll answer your questions in a few words, and I want you to make sure the answers are longer than the ones I give you. 1) This paragraph does not flow at all. 2) The rhythm is very choppy. 3) The most important ideas are when she moves to the West Coast because it gives more detail on her life. The least important is her childhood and how she is brought up because it hardly talks about it. 4) The ideas aren’t well connected because it just states facts and doesn’t expand on them. 5) The relationship is basically what ever happened next in her life, no detail. 6) I would add more detail and make the sentences less choppy. This should help you rewrite the paragraph.

inn [45]

Answer:

developing a fast pace.

Explanation:

The author makes this part of the story interesting by developing a fast pace.

In literary terms, pace is the speed at which a narrator tells a story which is determined by the length of the scene or how fast the reader is provided with information.

In this case, the author quickly provides the reader with information at a break-neck speed which makes the story more interesting.

<u><em>"She wanted me to leave the light booth after the lights went up on that scene, go backstage, go onstage, say Max's two lines, then go backstage again and back to the light booth in time to bring the lights down on the scene."</em></u>

Here, the sequence of events are given out quickly, so the reader can almost feel the action.
