Internet protocols are changed every year to adapt to the new devices that have been connected to the network. As technology advances becomes faster and implements new innovative solutions, the protocols that exist become outdated and begin to no longer serve the purpose for which it was created. Therefore every so often new internet protocols are created and implemented so that the new devices are able to connect and function at full efficiency.
