This group of ships were tasked by<em> Theodore Roosevelt</em> to visit many countries in order to let them know how powerful the US Navy was. Their circumnavigation lasted from <em>Dec. 16, 1907 to Feb. 22, 1909. </em>It enhanced peaceful relationships with other nations and made the Americans truly inspired.

Such display of power is considered not to be its first time. Roosevelt also did a similar demonstration during the Algeciras Conference which was held in <em>1906.</em>
