The Mongols would have probably won with ease because of the sheer number of the soldiers, but than mother nature took things in her hands. A strong typhoon emerged just as the Mongols were about to reach the Japanese coast, and it destroyed their boats, and most of the soldiers drowned. The ones that managed to reach the coast were slathered, and Kublai Khan was left embarrassed by his actions.
