/And clubs and hoses, guns and jails
/Aren’t good for a little child." The mother is worried that the child could get hurt in the protests. She sends her daughter to church instead since it is typically thought to be a safe sanctuary. Unfortunately the church is bombed and the daughter dies.
Answer:
One Advantage of online school during this pandemic is that you can stay safe. Social distancing is hard to do in school especially for kids who are younger. As a solution, schools give the option for online school which will provide the student with learning and sercurity while away from the virus. One disadvantage of online school is that it takes away oppurtunitues and time from parents. Usually, parents need to stay home during the period a child is taking online classes to help them and make sure they're following the schedule. And on top of that, they need to cook, clean, and play with the child since they can't go out; this leads to why some parents dont choose online school because they have no time to go to jobs and do errands(whilst leaving the kid at home alone).
This is a compound sentence, because there are two independent clauses here: 1. Stone bridges are strong + but 2. (strong bridges) are costly to build.
The conjunction 'but' connects two independent clauses, and a compound sentence contains at least two independent clauses, whereas a simple sentence has only one.
B. The sentence is incomplete because it lacks a complete predicate.
A complete predicate basically is what tells you what the subject (pirate) does. When looking at this sentence, a great deal of it is nonessential/parenthetical. Specifically, all that information is serving as an adjective clause describing the pirate. Let’s look at the sentence, now, with the nonessential/parenthetical in bold:
The pirate who sailed his ship in the Atlantic Ocean pilfering from British naval ships and irritating the British navy
Thus, we are still left with the question, “What did the pirate do?”
