This sentence is a strong thesis because: 1) It is in the form of a statement, not a question. 2) It breaks down and begins to evaluate Gilman's feelings. 3) It sets up a concise order for the rest of the paper, which will further evaluate Gilman's struggle with postpartum depression, her opinion of the "rest cure," and her feelings of oppression in marriage.

Sentence C is a good example of conflict.  An animal rights activist tried to save the Bengai tiger from being hunted to extinction. The other sentences contain neutral connotations, making this the only conflicted sentence.
