Read the procedure. What is the purpose of the bicarbonate that is dissolved in the water?
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

Through this experiment we study the process of photosynthesis.

• In the begining the leaf disks's tissue has oxygen, this allows them to float.

• Then, in the experiment we infiltrate the leaf disks with a solution that has bicarbonate, and as a result their density changes (it increases) and so the leaf disks sink.

• Once the disks are on the bottom and we direct the light to them the process of photosynthesis starts, being the bicarbonate the source of carbon for the process.

• As we know a product of the photosynthesis proces is oxygen, so when it is released into the leaf disks the overall density changes again and the disks rise.

So as we can see, in this experiment the purpose of the bicarbonate is being the source of carbon for the process of photosynthesis that occurs in the leaf disks.

Two true-breeding stocks of garden peas are crossed. One parent had green, inflated pea pods and the other had yellow, constrict
posledela

Answer:

The correct answer is : 262.5

Explanation:

Given:

F1 plants - green, inflated pea pods.

Parents = pure breed.

So, the green and inflated pods are dominant

solution:

Let G = green color and dominant over g = yellow color.

Similarly, I = inflated which is dominant over i constricted pod.

Parents: GGII × ggii

F1: GgIi ( green, inflated)

Parents: GgIi × GgIi

Punnet square: find attachment

The green constricted seeds are found in the proportion of 3/16

The number of green and constricted seeds out of 1400

=(3/16)×1400

=262.5

Thus, the correct answer is : 262.5

A person holding a bow has just released an arrow from the bow. The arrow shoots forward toward its target. What type of energy
Jobisdone [24]

You said "The arrow shoots forward towards its target". The only energy type that matches that description is the kinetic energy, which is also known as the energy of movement.

The kinetic energy, in your case, is generated when you let go of the bows string, releasing all the tension you created when you pulled it, on the arrow, which in turn makes it go forward.

Hope it helped,

How can a gene determine whether a person has albinism (give a molecular explanation.)?
Finger [1]
The TYR gene is responsible for the production of the enzyme tyrosinase which is crucial in the production of melanin which is primarily responsible for skin pigmentation and for pigmentation of other organs. In albinism, there is mutation of the TYR gene therefore there will be no transcription of DNA to mRNA and no translation of mRNA to the enzyme tyrosinase leading to its deficiency. The deficiency of tyrosinase will eventually lead to the absence of melanin and ultimately, the absence of pigmentation in an organism.
