What is Friar Lawrence saying? Thy wit, that ornament to shape and love, Misshapen in the conduct of them both, Like powder in a

skilless soldier's flask, To set a-fire by thine own ignorance, And thou dismember'd with thine own defence (III. iii. 138-142).

The Friar refers to Romeo's "wit" first as an ornament that he must "shape and love" - in other words, he should prioritize growing in intelligence and fostering a sharp mind. However, it has been "misshapen" due to a lack of skill. As a result, what could have been a great benefit to him has become his downfall. I hope this helps!

Answer: Friar Laurence is speaking about Romeo's mind, body and love

Explanation: In Act III, Scene III, of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare, Friar Laurence has just told Romeo that the Prince has ordered Romeo's exile. Romeo thinks of killing himself. Friar Laurence says that he must be grateful for both he and Juliet are alive. And tells him that Romeo's mind has misguided both his body and his love. He adds that Romeo looks like an unskilled soldier, who makes gunpowder burn and kills himself with what he had to defend himself.

The title of the novel by Charles Dickens, Hard Times, can be interpreted as referring to a period in which _____.
Lunna [17]

Answer:

Hard, measurable facts are highly valued.

Explanation:

Charles Dickens' novel "Hard Times" is a representation of the utilitarianism of the English society and satirizes the conditions of the society and economic conditions. In his representation of the various characters, Dickens provides the contrasting values that the different social classes value. The title "Hard Times" itself also provide a major idea to the theme that is dealt in the story. It can also be interpreted as referring to a period that places high value and importance to the hard and measurable facts instead of humane and more sensical things.

Any help with last of these GIVING BRAINLESS
Mama L [17]
1. The word “initiative” means the action of doing something without being told to do so. The dictionary definition is (you can search it up) “the ability to assess and initiate things independently.”

2. I think the word “responsibility” means the job you have to do. The dictionary definition is “the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone.”

3. I think the word “perseverance” means having the motivation to keep going in order to reach your goal even when you come across a hard problem. The dictionary definition is “persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.”

4. I think the word “empathy” means when you/one can be compassionate and comprehend the feelings of others. The dictionary definition is “the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.”

5. Perseverance can help me be successful in life because it helps me improve and stay on task. Without perseverance, I would give up on one thing and move onto the next frequently, getting nothing done. This would not do anything to help me as it would just pile on the stress of wanting to get something done but being unable to, making perseverance even more important. Having perseverance is a very useful skill that will help me stay committed to my goal.
