Answer and Explanation:

Beowulf: Beowulf is a hero and is the protagonist of history, being a strong, honorable, courageous, intelligent and charitable man. In today's society it represents good, the one that promotes progress, peace and prosperity, in addition to being an example to be followed.

King Hrothgar: he IS a ruler, who did not hesitate to ask for help for his people. In today's society, he may have a representation of leadership, wealth, loyalty, responsibility and even humility.

Grendel: it is a terrible and violent monster. It is the representation of evil and everything that promotes return, whether in any element of current life.

Grendel ’s Mother: Although she is also a monster and can also be considered a representation of evil, she represents maternal strength and self-giving to the child's interests.

Wiglaf: He is a companion and maintains this representation, showing loyalty to his friends, even when the situation seems difficult and dangerous.

Dragon: It is the third show faced by Beowulf, it represents the emergence of new difficulties and challenges to be faced throughout life.

Why did oral storytelling traditions favor strong meter and alliteration?
tatuchka [14]
Because scops (oral storytellers) were telling their stories orally and not from a written account, they needed something that would allow them to easily remember those stories. This why you notice that tales or epics that were first told orally have a certain cadence that makes it easier to follow. This allows the storyteller to remember and it also allows the reader to follow along in a better way.

As an interesting side note, these story tellers would also sometimes put the stories to music as that was another way to tell the stories. They would start as ballads and the storyteller would play a tune while they sang the stories.
