Iscathamiya meaning "to walk like a cat" is a
derivative of the mbube vocal style developed by singing group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The
term is derived from the Zulu verb “cathama” which means walking softly. The isicathamiya
choirs are traditionally all male choirs.
