Metallurgy was the study of Metallic elements.  It help people learn the way to use metals to form various forms of tools that will be beneficial for them. These includes musical instruments.

Many if the musical instruments at the time was made with the combination of woods and iron/bronze. Most of the metals were used as coating to make sure that the physical structure of the musical instruments are not easy to break.
