The native had respect for nature than the English settlers. The settlers and Indians tried to maintain a friendly relationship by trading furs and other items like guns and food. Eventually, the desire for the land by the settlers led to tension among both sides, which finally started in wars, with the forced removal of the Native Indians after losing the battles. Both the Tidewater War and the Powhatan war originated from white racial attitudes along a frontier of violence.
