Why did Germany and Italy support the Nationalists in the Spanish Civil War?

While the Spanish Republic provoked symphathy in all democracies, both Germany and Italy were already under autoritarian governments, more specifically, those of Hitler and Mussolini. In spite of non intervention agreements both countries collaborated heavily with Nationalistic Spain.
