While the Spanish Republic provoked symphathy in all democracies, both Germany and Italy were already under autoritarian governments, more specifically, those of Hitler and Mussolini. In spite of non intervention agreements both countries collaborated heavily with Nationalistic Spain.

They had about 110 settlers that arrived but by the end of the year (December) they had approximately 70 and they had the settlers unknown at that time
