Answer:

The four estates of France were; Clergy, nobles, middle-class, and peasants

Explanation:

The estate of the clergy was made of wealthy people who were not paying taxes in the 1780s the population was about 130,000. The second estate was made of small groups who were also exempted from tax payment and other military duties. People with noble blood were considered under this category.

The three estates were made of ordinary people in France who operated the feudal government. They owned lands and wealth and they were the largest in number. They, therefore, had to pay taxes for funding the clergy, and they were left with no food.

How did Roosevelt’s Lend-Lease Act shift US foreign policy away from isolationism?
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer

It lent arms to Allied forces and allowed them to pay later.

Explanation

The  Lend-Lease Act was the principal means for providing U.S. military aid to foreign nations during World War II. It was a program provided for military aid to any country whose defense was vital to the security of the United States. The plan thus gave Roosevelt the power to lend arms to Britain with the understanding that, after the war, America would be paid back in kind. Lend-lease was important because it advanced the United States to the edge of war. This was by  providing  that the president could ship weapons, food, or equipment to any country whose struggle against the Axis assisted U.S. defense. The president Roosevelt signed the Lend Lease bill into law in march 11th 1941.

When government inspectors investigated the claims made by Upton Sinclair in The Jungle, they found that
IrinaVladis [17]

President Theodore Roosevelt privately wrote to journalist William Allen White, expressing doubts about the accuracy of Sinclair's claims. After reading The Jungle, Roosevelt agreed with some of Sinclair's conclusions. The president wrote that "radical measures must be taken to put an end to the efforts of arrogant and selfish greed on the part of the capitalist." After this the president ordered to investigate some meat packing facilities.

Upon hearing of the visit, the owners made their workers thoroughly clean the factories before the inspection. In any case, many of the statements that were portrayed in the novel could be verified. That year, the Animal Industry Office issued a report rejecting Sinclair's most severe allegations, characterizing them as "intentionally misleading and false."

All this resulted in the approval of the Meat Inspection Law and the Pure Food and Drug Law; the latter established the Office of Chemistry (in 1930 it was renamed the Food and Drug Administration).
