Which concept is an inherent element in the Muslim belief system?
Lilit [14]
I assume "Muslim belief system" refers to Islam, the religion, not any specific social construct. There are a lot of inherent elements. One is monotheism: there is only 1 god. Another element is the 5 Pillars of Islam, which give guidance on how to live one's life. Hope this helps.

Think about what you learned about conquistadors, and choose the right word or phrase that completes the sentence. The conquista
nordsb [41]

Answer:

The conquistadors mainly hoped to find gold and treasures in the Americas

Explanation:

The main idea behind the conquest of America was to find gold and treasures. Spain recently completed its dominance over the Iberian Peninsula, and now wanted to spread its power and influence across the lands discovered by Cristopher Columbus in 1492. Once these expeditions were sponsored by the kings, they hoped to find treasures that could cover the debts. Then, beyond the traditional idea of the Christianization of the natives, there was the necessity to find gold.

Describe the results of ethnic conflict in Bosnia in 1990's
Pani-rosa [81]
It was estimated that at about 200,000 people were killed and more than 2,000,000 displaced during the this war. Not just Croats and Muslims were killed in the conflict but also Serbs as well. Eventually, the United Nations peace keepers and United States troops were sent to intervene and stop the Serb’s campaign of ethnic cleansing. Many Serb officers and officials were arrested and put on trial for war crimes.

Many Bosnian Muslims were forced to flee from their homes in Bosnia, while Bosnian Croats were also cleared from Bosnia and had become displaced. The economy of Yugoslav also fell. The nationalist feelings of the people were manipulated because of their current living situations, and they were more susceptible to that manipulation. There were extreme events of violence mainly by Bosnian Serbs

What was the biggest challenge faced by George Washington when he agreed to lead the Continental Army?
artcher [175]

On this day in 1775, George Washington, who would one day become the first American president, accepts an assignment to lead the Continental Army.

Washington had been managing his family’s plantation and serving in the Virginia House of Burgesses when the second Continental Congress unanimously voted to have him lead the revolutionary army. He had earlier distinguished himself, in the eyes of his contemporaries, as a commander for the British army in the French and Indian War of 1754.

Born a British citizen and a former Redcoat, Washington had, by the 1770s, joined the growing ranks of colonists who were dismayed by what they considered to be Britain’s exploitative policies in North America. In 1774, Washington joined the Continental Congress as a delegate from Virginia. The next year, the Congress offered Washington the role of commander in chief of the Continental Army.

After accepting the position, Washington sat down and wrote a letter to his wife, Martha, in which he revealed his concerns about his new role. He admitted to his “dear Patcy” that he had not sought the post but felt “it was utterly out of my power to refuse this appointment without exposing my Character to such censures as would have reflected dishonour upon myself, and given pain to my friends.” He expressed uneasiness at leaving her alone, told her he had updated his will and hoped that he would be home by the fall. He closed the letter with a postscript, saying he had found some of “the prettiest muslin” but did not indicate whether it was intended for her or for himself.

On July 3, 1775, Washington officially took command of the poorly trained and under-supplied Continental Army. After six years of struggle and despite frequent setbacks, Washington managed to lead the army to key victories and Great Britain eventually surrendered in 1781. Due largely to his military fame and humble personality, Americans overwhelmingly elected Washington their first president in 1789.
