Soil erosion is mainly due to which of the following reasons?
Ugo [173]

The correct answer is - deforestation.

Deforestation is a huge issue when it comes to soil erosion. When there's thicker vegetation the soil is in place and the erosion is minimal. This is due to the root systems of the trees, bushes, grashes, that are making a natural net inside the soil that holds it in place and doesn't allow the soil to be moved away and thus erosion to take place. But when we have a deforested landscape than the situation is the total opposite. The soil is left on its own and it doesn't have any protection from the root systems to keep in place, so with every rain it is eroding slowly and occasionally quickly when there's heavy rainfall. Most of the erosion takes place on the steeper parts.

hello I don’t understand how slab-pull force works. Anyone able to explain it? Thanks !! (from tectonic hazards)
labwork [276]
The theory is that because the oceanic plate is denser than the hotter mantle beneath it, this contrast in density causes the plate to sink into the mantle. The process of a tectonic plate descending into the mantle is termed subduction. Slab pull occurs when an oceanic plate subducts into the underlying mantle.

How do trade barriers affect the African economy today?
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

Excessive tariffs harm international trade. For countries that are dependent on exports to fund their economy, trade barriers can be detrimental to their economies. This creates a supply surplus. Businesses are then forced to sell products at a cheap price.
