What are the characteristics of an epic hero?

  1. Champion of freedom
  2. Courage
  3. Super Strength
  4. Devotion
  5. Loyalty
  6. Love of Glory
  7. Justice

What evidence from the text makes Odysseus an epic hero (you need two pieces of evidence/examples)? Use an example from the text.

Quote: "Nobody—that’s my name." Odysseus tells the cyclops Polyphemus that his name is “Nobody.” The clever ruse is part of his escape plan. When Odysseus blinds Polyphemus, the cyclops cries out “Nobody’s killing me,” which persuades the other cyclops that Ployphemus’s unharmed. Odysseus is capable of thinking strategically, several moves ahead of the poem’s other characters.

Then explain HOW your examples mean that he was an epic hero. Remember, your conclusion should be supported by two points.

Odysseus demonstrates heroic, god-like qualities throughout The Odyssey. In one instance, he cleverly tricks and blinds the Cyclops Polyphemus, saving his crew from certain death. Odysseus also bravely travels to Hades to learn his fate. Upon reaching Ithaca, Odysseus takes on all of Penelope’s suitors, defeating them to reclaim his rightful place. This why is my examples mean that he was an epic hero.

(Simple past) can you explaining this grammar for me
galben [10]

Answer:

Simple past is also called “preterite”. This type of grammar helps explain actions that have already happened.

Explanation:

Past tense words usually end in “ed” such as “jumped”, “helped”, or “watched”. But there are exceptions such as “run” and “swim”. Run and swim are present tense and to make them past tense you change the vowel to an A. So run becomes “ran” and swim becomes “swam”. I hope I helped a little.
